Those who know me know that at any given moment, it's pretty likely that I have food on the brain. One evening, when Josh and I first started dating, he asked me the dreaded "what are you thinking about" question. The correct answer was supposed to be that I was falling for him, or something equally romantic. My answer? Potatoes.
Josh and I, as noted in his previous blog entry, are spending the week in Austin. We haven't been here since January, and a lot has changed since then. For one thing, instead of ordering cookies for Free Cookie Friday, Rebekah has been trying out different recipes and baking them at home.
Because Rebekah is spending the week in Louisiana, I am taking over baking duties. To me, this isn't a chore or something on my to-do list. It's a mission. I am going to bake the best cookies Storyville Austin has ever seen (or tasted). It's a lofty goal, but that's where you come in.
Send me your ideas for cookies you'd like to see in Storyville Austin (or any Storyville shop, for that matter - after all, I will be back in Baton Rouge next week) to Storyville.Austin@gmail.com. If you have a recipe in particular that will knock my socks off, send it over.
The winning recipe or idea and its accompanying photos will be posted here Friday morning (July 31). And the cookies will be available in Storyville Austin all day. In Baton Rouge or New Orleans? If you win, I'll whip up a batch when I get back to Louisiana and make sure they're in that shop, too. Happy eating!
