The New Orleans Era begins

storyvillle_new_orleans_new_shop_front_ss_one_txt.jpgWhew.  What a couple of weeks.  On March 21, we managed to pull off what very possibly could have been the greatest show in the history of fashion.  On the day after the Second Ever Storyville Fashion Show, the Storyville family went down to Magazine Street and began working on our new shop.  Five days later, the new shop opened for business.

The New Orleans shop is a work-in-progress, but it's off to a very good start through day four.  As far as the asthetic goes, we brighted the place up from its previous plum-turd color scheme.  We painted the walls and ceilings, but left the exposed brick just how we found it.  We're in the process of hanging up large framed photos taken during the fashion show.  We also painted a huge dry erase board on one of the walls.  Until last week, I wasn't aware that dry erase board paint existed.  I can't wait to write all over our giant dry erase board/wall.  It's going to be like being a kid again.

The Storyville New Orleans Grand Opening All Day Extravaganza will be held on Friday, April 24 -- the first Friday of Jazz Fest.  By April 24, the shop should be finished, meaning that we'll have an outdoor hanging sign (painted by hand), a custom-built counter and all the equipment needed to make custom tee shirts.  My brother Gabriel will build the outdoor sign and counter, and I will be taking photos of them and blogging about them.  Sounds like a fair division of labor to me.  Everyone has to play to his strengths.
