This is big.
Beginning February 1, 2009, Storyville Originals will be featured in famed New Orleans t-shirt boutique, Metro Three. Metro Three, home of New Orleans' best t-shirts, has long been a featured designer in Storyville's Baton Rouge shop. But now, Metro Three is returning the favor. Metro Three will continue to be featured in Storyville, and now Storyville will be featured in Metro Three.
And that's not all. For the time being, I am going to personally be working in New Orleans at the Metro Three shop (2032 Magazine Street). Hopefully, this Storyville Metro Three cooperative effort is the beginning of something really big for both Storyville and Metro Three.
We're honored to play a small role in the incredible story that is Metro Three. Metro Three was New Orleans' favorite t-shirt shop before Hurricane Katrina, and since Katrina, the City has embraced Metro Three even more.
Starbuck and Lori Laney's t-shirts have captured the spirit of New Orleans like none other. Locals and celebrities alike regularly wear classic tees like Make Levees, Not War, New Orleans is for Lovin' and Red Beans & Rice. Metro Three shirts have been featured in Time Magazine, US Weekly, Conde Nast Traveler, Essence, the New York Times, the Times Picayune, the Austin American Statesman, and on National Public Radio, MTV and lots of other places.
According to the official Frommer's 2008 guide book, "everyone in New Orleans has at least one of their shirts, and you should too." Metro Three is New Orleans. Beginning February 1, Storyville will humbly become part of that tradition.
