I just got off the phone with Josh Ford, one half of the dynamic duo behind Giraphic Prints. Josh was calling to tell me that Giraphic Prints apparel will soon be available in Whole Foods in Baton Rouge.
Let's have a round of applause for Whole Foods. We at Storyville think it's great that the large Austin-based grocery chain is reaching out to local designers and allowing them to sell their goods in their stores. In Texas, Whole Foods features t-shirts by 302 Designs and Wild World (two other awesome Storyville designers) in its Austin, San Antonio and Sugarland stores.
Unfortunately, Whole Foods is the exception, not the rule. We encourage other large businesses to offer locally made goods in their retail establishments. Together, we can support local artists and give back to the communities in which we live. Way to go, Whole Foods!
