A Shout out to the Good Thief!

June 9, 2008 by Elizabeth Harvey

225px-Goodthief.jpgBack in the eighth grade, I quickly picked the name, Dismas, for my confirmation name -- because I thought it was weird.  And because I knew no one else would want it.  And because we were only given 11 and a half minutes to pick one.  Anyway, last Friday morning, I was reminded of that ole' name because "Dismas" is more commonly known by  "The Good Thief."

When we arrived to work on Friday morning, we found a package sitting by Storyville's mailbox, and inside the white priority mail bag were two of our t-shirts and a note printed in purple ink.  The undisclosed author of the note wrote that he/she had stolen the shirts months back, but was unable to wear them because of how bad he/she felt afterwards from stealing from a small, local company who opened to help local artists and designers so he/she finally felt the need to bring them back.

I have no idea of how this person was able to get the shirts out of the shop unnoticed, but I have to say, I really appreciate them bringing the tees back - and unharmed.

So Good Thief, thank you...and stop stealing.
