Austin artist Corey Plumlee has airbrushed his way into Storyville. Corey is known for taking icons such as Madonna, Farrah Fawcett and Marilyn Monroe, re-imagining them and handpainting the new images on high quality apparel.
For his recent line of tees, Corey drew his inspiration from stencil graffiti in the subways and urbanscapes of New York. Corey sought to translate the "street art" into a wearable concept. As Corey puts it, "the universal t-shirt is the perfect medium for new ideas and statements to shine. Plus, I love turning symbols and glamorous icons into something people can wear."
Storyville currently has 3 of Corey's tees available online: Good Fortune, Panda and Bettie Page. Several additional Corey Plumlee tees are available in the Baton Rouge and Austin Storyville shops. Look out for even more Corey Plumlee tees to come to Storyville in the spring... Elvis, anyone?
