So we have a good lead on a possible Storyville Chapel Hill location. Storyville could work anywhere on the 100 - 300 block of W. Franklin or, ideally, on the 100 block of E. Franklin. Anchoring the 100 block of E. Franklin is the historic Carolina Theatre building. The building is now home to the Top of the Hill restaurant and a closed Gap store.
The specific space that we're inquiring about is an old Sunglass Hut. It's roughly 1500 square feet, but only 900 feet appear to be retail space (the rest of the space is storage space). So we've sent a letter of intent to the real estate firm that is responsible for the property. Now we play the waiting game to find out if they're interested in turning their property into Storyville Chapel Hill.
Stay tuned and we'll let you know what we find out. Even if this deal doesn't work out, we're going to open a new Storyville shop in 2008. So if you're in Chapel Hill or Tempe, Arizona, get ready, because we're working hard to bring Storyville your way.
