Live from Chapel - Day Three (Last Day)

Okay, so this is it.  My final day in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  I have to catch a plane in a few hours, so this is going to have to be a quick update.  I still need to explore a little more of the UNC campus and, time permitting, pay a visit to John Edwards campaign HQ before I hop on a plane back to New Orleans.

So we have a good lead on a possible Storyville Chapel Hill location.  Storyville could work anywhere on the 100 - 300 block of W. Franklin or, ideally, on the 100 block of E. Franklin.  Anchoring the 100 block of E. Franklin is the historic Carolina Theatre building.  The building is now home to the Top of the Hill restaurant and a closed Gap store.

The specific space that we're inquiring about is an old Sunglass Hut.  It's roughly 1500 square feet, but only 900 feet appear to be retail space (the rest of the space is storage space).  So we've sent a letter of intent to the real estate firm that is responsible for the property.  Now we play the waiting game to find out if they're interested in turning their property into Storyville Chapel Hill.

Stay tuned and we'll let you know what we find out.  Even if this deal doesn't work out, we're going to open a new Storyville shop in 2008.  So if you're in Chapel Hill or Tempe, Arizona, get ready, because we're working hard to bring Storyville your way.  We've got Curtis Davis scouting locations for us near UNC and Veronica Brana looking for spots near Arizona State
